Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, continua l’attività di preparazione del Consiglio Europeo del 23-24 marzo. Dopo la conversazione telefonica con il cancelliere tedesco Olaf Scholz, Meloni ha sentito oggi il Primo Ministro greco, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, e il Presidente della Commissione Europea, Ursula von der Leyen.
Al centro dei colloqui l’agenda per il vertice di Bruxelles: la priorità di un pieno sostegno del Consiglio Europeo all’Ucraina a 360 gradi; una rapida attuazione delle decisioni del Consiglio Ue di febbraio per una gestione finalmente europea dei flussi migratori; soluzioni europee per la competitività delle economie del continente, attraverso il pieno utilizzo degli strumenti UE appropriati. Con Mitsotakis, si è convenuto inoltre di approfondire ulteriormente le già intense relazioni bilaterali.
Con von der Leyen, è stata condivisa l’urgenza di agire a livello europeo sulla migrazione, sottolineata dal Presidente della Commissione Europea nella sua lettera di ieri ai Leader UE, in sintonia con le priorità italiane sul tema.

Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, had phone conversations with the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Mitsotakis, and with the President of the European Commission, von der Leyen, in preparation of the European Council on the 23rd – 24th of March. At the centre of the phone calls: the priority of a further signal by the European Council of a 360-degrees support to Ukraine; the rapid implementation of the February European Council’s decisions for a finally European management of migration flows; European solutions for the competitiveness of the continent’s economies through the full use of the appropriate EU instruments. With Mitsotakis, the two Prime Ministers have also agreed to further deep the already strong bilateral relations. With von der Leyen, the urgency of a European action on migration was shared, as underlined by the President of the European Commission in her letter yesterday to the EU leaders, in line with the Italian priorities on this topic.
